Explore Our New Brain Chemistry Reports
Updated: Oct 2
GenesUnveiled now offers Brain Chemistry Reports, a new collection of genetic insights related to brain-related pathways.
Each report uses selected genetic markers found in your active DNA file to estimate a research-based tendency. Results are presented on a clear scale ranging from Lower to Higher, making it easier to explore complex biological pathways without interpreting individual SNPs manually.
What Brain Chemistry Reports can show
The available reports depend on which markers are included in your raw DNA file, but at least 10 new reports are likely to be generated for most raw DNA file formats.
Examples may include genetic tendencies related to:
dopamine activity
conversion of dopamine into norepinephrine
serotonin synthesis
histamine breakdown
melatonin timing and sleep-related pathways
adenosine availability
cortisol feedback
GABA signaling
BDNF release
oxytocin and neuropeptide signaling
opioid response
anandamide availability
New reports will be added as the feature continues to develop.
How results are presented
Each Brain Chemistry card includes:
the pathway or biological system being explored
your Lower–Typical–Higher result
a short explanation of what the result reflects
the number of genetic markers used
an evidence label
a detailed personalized result page
The five-position visual scale also allows for more precise results such as Slightly lower or Slightly higher. For example, the reports may examine genetic differences related to dopamine breakdown and D2 receptor signaling, TPH2-related serotonin synthesis, dopamine-β-hydroxylase activity, or HNMT-related histamine clearance.

Understanding the evidence labels
Brain-related genetics is a developing field, and the strength of evidence differs between pathways.
Each card therefore displays an evidence label such as:
Early evidence
Limited evidence
Moderate evidence
Strong evidence
Robust evidence
These labels reflect factors such as the quality, consistency, replication, and biological relevance of the available research. They help distinguish well-supported associations from findings that remain more preliminary.

How GenesUnveiled generates your results
GenesUnveiled checks whether the required markers are present in your active raw DNA file. Some reports use one marker, while others combine several variants. When a required marker is missing or recorded as a no-call, GenesUnveiled does not invent a result. This means that the number of available Brain Chemistry Reports can differ between files and DNA testing providers.
Analysis runs client-side during normal use. GenesUnveiled does not receive or store your raw DNA file or per-variant results during the normal analysis process. View all our raw DNA reports & markers.
